Commissioned by the Verein Zolliker Kunstfreunde, the Studio set out to collectively design, plan and build a Belvedere on a site overlooking the city of Zürich and the Lake.
The Design and planning process involved about forty people and multiple small competitions as well as many iterations on the construction design - especially since the Structure scratches the limit of what was feasible with the given materials and tools. The collective building process was done in about eight weeks time during the summer break. While the staircase itself had to be reinforced with screws - also for security reasons - yet the supporting structure was done using no metal at all.
